VAI Operational Risk and Resilience Accreditation (ORRA) Program

Vertical Aviation International’s ORRA program is for helicopter operators seeking to transcend traditional risk management and elevate their operational processes. Adaptable to operators of all sizes and scope, ORRA assures a robust yet flexible framework that empowers a trajectory of continuous growth, advancement, and safety. To administer the program, VAI has partnered with VLinc Corporation, which has extensive aviation standardization program experience spanning the broad capabilities of VAI member organizations.

ORRA provides an organized framework to help VAI member organizations manage risks and improve processes—and earn accreditation along the way. Operators at any stage of SMS development or implementation can participate. This easy-to-start program comes with an experienced VLinc coach to keep progress on track and sustain momentum through each stage’s process improvement checklists. Participating organizations earn accreditation upon reaching each milestone: Bronze Level (self-assessment with virtual third-party validation), Silver Level (operational implementation validated with on-site assessment), and Gold Level (effective implementation validated with on-site assessment). Advantages for participating operators include:

This Performance Vector option supports participation in ORRA by providing a partial subsidy of program fees. The amount of Performance Vector contribution possible depends on policy status and the operator’s ORRA stage at time of enrollment. Contact USAIG Aviation Safety Programs at [email protected] for a determination on the contribution available. Learn more about ORRA here.
